Eighteen Vietnam enterprises will make a fact-finding tour of Alger City,
Algeria, from October 18-24, according to the Africa, West Asia and South Asia
Department directly under Ministry of Industry and Trade.
During their stay in the country, they will conduct
market research, meet with potential partners and promote their products to
boost exports to this African nation.
They will focus on products, such as rice, coffee,
pepper, coconut rice, canned and frozen seafood, civil electronics, computers
and components, footwear, textile.
Located in a strategic location, Algeria is
a gateway for Asian products to penetrate West and Middle Africa.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Algeria has
increased significantly in recent times. Vietnam’s exports hit US$129
million in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 28 percent. Algeria ranked
the fifth among importers of Vietnam products in Africa.
In the first 7 months of 2013, Vietnam’s
exports to Algeria rose by 15 percent to US$101.33 million. Out of
which seafood exports accounted for US$5.5 million.
